Urumqi Restaurant

I can understand the location is a little hidden and the interior is less than appealing. We came to an empty shop on for a typical office hours lunch. Once we stepped in, we were greeted by a warm welcome from the owner. It's as mom and pop shop as it gets. We are glad the food came out amazing and affordable. I guess it's the location and lack of appeal that maybe hindering the business.

I have always wanted to try Uyghur cuisine, but I think I got bamboozled here. The small portion of the Laghman was definitely not worth the exorbitant price (€19,90). The taste was alright, and I got to try hand pulled Laghman, but it wasn’t served piping hot. The staff were really nice though, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, which is why I suppose that I was disappointed by the food. I had high expectations for this place.

怪不得没人，这是新疆黄面？这是意大利面，游走欧洲这么多年，头一次吃到新疆馆子用意大利面代替，我觉得我被当成傻子了！

De eerste keer dat ik de uygoerse keuken probeer. Het eten was erg vettig en misschien is dat net iets te veel voor mij. De smaken waren aanwezig, maar is niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Interieur is niet mooi en erg gedateerd. Prijs/kwaliteit-verhouding is erg scheef gezien de kwaliteit van het eten, interieur en plakkerig plastic als tafelkleed.
