The food is nice, however food does not come all at once so you might finish your food before it comes for your friends.

My girlfriend and I visited on Saturday afternoon, and it was our first experience with Sojubar. We decided to give it a try after seeing a nicely made ad on social media, as we were really curious about the original Korean batter they use for their fried chicken. I ordered the Soju Gangnam Style chicken, and my girlfriend chose the Honey Butter. The food looked absolutely delicious, and the crunch was exactly what you'd hope for. Unfortunately, the taste was a completely different story. The batter tasted... strange. It's hard to describe, but it reminded us of plain flour with no salt or seasoning. I don't know if something was missing from the recipe that day or if there was an issue with the frying oil, but the flavor just felt off. Before our food arrived, we noticed a couple at the next table leaving almost half of their meal behind. After tasting ours, we understood why. We couldn't finish our food either. The batter was so overpowering that I can barely remember what the chicken itself tasted like. We both felt perfectly fine afterward, so I don't think the food was spoiled. However, the only thing we wanted to do after leaving was eat something else to get rid of the unpleasant taste. Since this was our first visit, I honestly don't know whether something went wrong that Saturday or if that's simply how their chicken is supposed to taste and it's just not for us. If anyone else visited the Markthal location on Saturday (04/07/2026), I'd be curious to know whether you had a similar experience or if this was just an off day. For now, I can only recommend Sojubar for drinks.

I highly recommend you to double check the food for takeout during pick up. Otherwise you will ended up with expired sauce already 2days old and spoiled food waste around it. What’s even better, they make you paid €2.25 for it when you ask for some extra sauce along with the dish. It would’ve been 1 star if not for the other location which they do provide you with fresh food and not being cheap on the sauce.
