We had a fantastic birthday night for my wife with the family. The flavours and spices are amazing. Authentic ingredients, freshly prepared all the way. With every dish we felt back in West Africa which we love so much. Thank you Chef Kenneh for your exceptional cooking and the beautiful place you created. Anyone should be willing to make a detour to experience the best from the West.

I’ll be back!

Truly a one of a kind, incredible dining experience. The chef puts such incredible detail into every plate and often came to our table to describe the inspiration. World class experience that you must make time for in Amsterdam!

I don’t like writing this review. The servers were super friendly and helpful. But serving raw chicken is not acceptable, fortunately I noticed it and didn’t eat the suspect/raw parts. For context: all the meals were very good. Except for the main dish. I know organic chicken can looks pink-ish despite being fully cooked, but it’s not supposed to be translucent, bright red at the bone and with a weird stringy texture and taste. When I, hesitantly, shared my doubts, the female waiter seemed surprised at how weird the inner parts of the chicken looked. But then the owner came over, without even looking at the plate, ensured that the chicken is always cooked to a safe temperature. This gave me little room to explain why I suspected the chicken was raw. He just took away the dish and offered us free desserts. Again: I’m aware that organic chicken can look pink-ish, but the taste, texture and translucent look made me highly doubt this. Despite the chicken being safe in his opinion, he offered us a free dessert and drink, which was very nice of him, but also conflicting. This is also why I was hesitant to write this review. Feedback like this should be taken seriously though. Another thing: the prices on the menu are exclusive of taxes, which I’ve never seen in NL before. Also they accidentally billed the dishes that were offered for free, but the refund we received didn’t include taxes, which made the bill almost impossible to understand. I love the concept, all the other dishes were amazing. But when someone complains about raw chicken and you don’t even look at the dish, but just assume it’s safe, is not a good look to me. I wish I took a picture.
