My wife and I had an amazing couple of days in Amsterdam. Two of them were spent with Gerrit who was a fantastic host. He was highly communicative, on-time, informative, and extremely considerate of our needs and interests. We maximized our time and saw quite a few things in two whole days. I had a day arranged with Trip Advisor and while it hit a few spots, it didn't appear to be with a local that would be able to share the history and perspective of a local that we wanted. I found Hidden Holland with more searching and booked a tour with him. As prep for our tour, we had a video call with Gerrit and discussed what we we looking to do and we settled on an itinerary for us. We felt so comfortable, that we cancelled our Trip Advisor private tour and booked Gerrit for a second day! On our first day, we visited Keukenhoff and we were one of the first visitors there. We had the park to ourselves for about a full hour and beat the busses! From there we went to lunch at a small Gouda Cheese farm and then the city of Delft for a tour. Day two included a trip to the tulip fields and a perfect spot in the grandstands for the Tulip Parade. Truly a fun experience and a great mixed crowd of local and tourists that we had pleasant conversations with. We then went north, stopping at more tulip fields for pictures, had lunch at small local inn, then stopped for ice cream at the beach on the north shore. You cannot go wrong with a tour with Gerrit and Hidden Holland. Whether you stay in Amsterdam or explore the countryside, you will have an amazing time!

Our private tour of the Keukenhof Gardens, private tulip farms, and the charming Dutch countryside with Gerrit was an absolutely unforgettable experience and a highlight of our trip to Paris and Amsterdam! From the moment we met, our guide made us feel completely at ease and incredibly welcome. The day was meticulously planned and perfectly executed. We were mesmerized by the vibrant beauty of Keukenhof and truly appreciated the unique opportunity to explore private tulip farms, which offered an even more intimate look at these stunning flowers. Learning about the history and mechanics of a working historical windmill was captivating, and ending our day with oceanside drinks and ice cream at the shore was the perfect, relaxing conclusion. Throughout the entire day, our guide provided such insightful information about the Netherlands and its rich culture, answering all our questions with genuine enthusiasm. We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, informative, or enjoyable day. This tour was truly a highlight of our trip, and we wholeheartedly recommend Gerrit to anyone seeking an authentic, personalized, and exceptional exploration of the Netherlands. After our Viking River Cruise concluded in Amsterdam, we needed transportation to the Kröller-Müller Museum and found Gerrit Vandenberg with Hidden Holland. Gerrit was an exceptional guide who transformed a simple excursion into a highlight of our trip. He is incredibly knowledgeable and provides the unique perspective only a local can offer including a stop at a hidden gem of an ice cream shop. His communication was seamless, and he even shared invaluable tips for the rest of our travels. Our only regret is not finding him sooner—we would have booked him for every excursion!

Gerrit was incredible to work with as we scheduled our all-day excursion from Amsterdam to the Kröller Müller Museum. From our initial contact by email, when he responded promptly (in flawless English!), to our choosing the best day and time for our group of eight, to regular communication leading up to our trip (even offering a Zoom meeting beforehand, to make us feel perfectly comfortable with the trip) -- we had very high expectations for the actual day of our trip, and Gerrit did not disappoint. His driving was expert and his commentary was informative and enjoyable. He gave us many options and suggestions for how best to spend our time in the national park, going so far as to coach us on how to use the park's free bicycles. On our way back to A'dam, he offered to take us to his favorite ice-cream stand in a nearby village -- a fantastic way to sweeten an already wonderful day. I would happily use Gerrit's services again -- as a driver, a guide, and as an expert in structuring a visit to the Netherlands.
