Food is o.k. but was undercooked and not al dente, but they don’t understand the difference anyway. Service was very bad, they literally act as they do not want to work there. One waiter even drank the drinks the guests did not finish - disgusting. Place has a cool design that’s a plus.

Amazing dinner spot in Amsterdam! The lasagna is the star, but the staff is kind and the atmosphere is nice.

Had a very bad experience here. It was a very warm evening and we had a reservation, and upon greeting us the employee said that he’d seat us inside and would move us outside when a spot opens up. No problem, of course, so we agreed and sat inside. Once we had a round of drinks and starters, I asked our waiter to double-check if we were still in line to get a table outside. He said he would not only check, but even put some pressure so that we’d be moved outside soon. We happily agreed. Another 15 minutes later, he came and told us that he hadn’t been able to check, still. Then, our mains came and we were almost done with them. I noticed that people who had come way after us and who had waited for a table outside already got seated outside (and what a coincidence that they happened to be the ones who were sitting by and chatting with the bartender). As this is totally unfair (not just for us but for the 4+ parties who were sitting inside and obviously waiting for a table outside), I called our waiter and explained the situation. He did apologise, which is appreciated, but he also said that it was because of the hassle. This is not true, of course, because if you see 4+ parties sitting inside in very hot weather, you’re very much aware that they are waiting for a table outside and not that they just love to profusely sweat while sitting inside — so it was very much intentional. We then saw yet another party who came after us be seated at a table outside (again, they happened to be by the bar chatting with the bartender). In all transparency, we had told our waiter that we no longer needed a table outside as we were already done with our meal and had caught a bad vibe due to unfair treatment. So, we got rewarded for making a reservation by being seated inside in the scorching heat and then being treated like this. The waiter took off the olives starter from our check as an apology.

Wonderful experience here at Ilario’s! We came here with my Italian friends and it was very nice. Sofia is fantastic!! we will definitely be back
