This is my kind of restaurant…they 100% focus on the food…and keeping it as authentic as they can feasibly do in Amsterdam. This is the kind of place for people who know butter chicken is a colonial dish and resent that it has come to symbolize such a vast cuisine. The menu is incredible…I’ve been here a dozen times and still have more stuff I want to try. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re veggie tho…it’s the meats that are truly outstanding. Honestly the best Indian restaurant in the country…if we were in London, this would be the joint in Newham with a line out the door.

This restaurant is an embarrassment to South Indian food, particularly Tamil food. I was visiting Amsterdam for work and my hotel was nearby, being a South Indian myself I was excited. When I told my South Indian friend that I am staying near this restaurant, his reaction was “omg the worst food”. I looked at reviews and they seemed OK ( definitely fake). So I decided to give it a try, I ordered a home style lamb curry. It was pre boiled and probably frozen for days, tiny lamb pieces that tasted like shoes with a really bad texture, thrown in a watery gravy with no taste and some coconut milk to make it even worse. So I threw it away and didn’t complain, this was a take away, paid around €30 with porotta etc. oily frozen porotta disgusting. OK so I don’t easily give up, I wanted to try one more time as I was checking out from hotel and wanted to hang somewhere for a bit. This time I ordered lamb coconut fry hoping how can you go wrong on a fry, oh boy extremely salty lamb pieces with the texture of a leather shoe and burnt texture instead of fried, basically frozen and pre boiled lamb pieces thrown in tawa but disgusting, to top it up some coconut powder from a pack, oh god why!!! So I ordered a dosa as I was hungry and by the way the dosa was Ok but the watery sambar had no taste except salt. I asked the waiter to try the lamb but he said he is going to temple and can’t eat meat today, maybe he is telling the truth or maybe he knows how bad the food is already. They still charged me €37, thought I returned the lamb. Apparently the chef tried and thought it was okay, of course he or she doesn’t know how to cook. Worst experience, please don’t go here and this restaurant would be out of business if not for fake reviews. If you are a South Indian, you are going to be furious. Also my stomach hurts already, let’s just hope I don’t get sick after the horrible food and experience. Also if your friends tell you this place is bad, they are telling the truth, trust them completely. By the way less than 100 metres away there are amazing grill restaurants for about the same price with delicious food, I tried one for lunch yesterday and was very happy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Look at negative reviews first, they are hiding it with fake positive reviews

We have visited the restaurant multiple times and have tried multiple dishes. Food has been good and never got disappointed. We have mostly tried South Indian food and flavors were on point. Food was freshly made. There are vegetarian and non vegetarian options. When we asked they specifically mentioned that the food is halal. Service was also good.
