I shopped there for a whole year, always paying with my VISA credit card. After the reconstruction in June, my card declined. The staff first claimed that they “never accepted credit cards”. After a 10 minute back and forth and being blamed at the cashier, one employee offered the explanation that the reconstruction caused their card terminals to no longer accept VISA or Maestro cards. It’s been nearly a month since this incident and they have still not managed to note it ANYWHERE. Needless to say, Jumbo is three minutes further, has better quality in fruits, and the staff is friendlier.

I’ve been shopping at this store for the past two years without any issues, but suddenly none of my cards worked recently. I tried five different cards, including Visa and Maestro, and every single one was declined. The first staff member had no idea why, so after filling our cart, we had to leave everything behind. Later, another employee explained that after the store renovation, they changed their payment system and no longer accept Visa cards. They only accept debit cards or cash now. The frustrating part is that none of the staff seemed to know about this change this time as the last time as well. We had to unload and rescan all of our groceries three separate times before finally withdrawing cash from the ATM to pay. This is the second time I’ve experienced this kind of inconvenience here. If the staff had been properly informed and trained, they could have explained the issue from the beginning and saved customers a lot of time and frustration. Very disappointing. I won’t be coming back to this store.
